Tip 96: Vary the speed of delivery
As with the tone of the voice, the speed of our speaking is constantly changing during normal conversation. The number of words per minute increases and decreases depending on how excited we are, how important the subject matter is, and whether we want to focus on certain points or skim over others.
If you are reading out a pre-written speech and you talk at a constant speed during your presentation, it does not appear normal or natural and your audience will struggle to connect with you. You will sound like a machine. They will not be at ease while listening to what you are trying to say.
