Tip 2: Avoid avoidance
In my experience, people who are worried about giving a presentation tend to put off thinking about it and they delay preparing for it until the last minute. Ironically, this makes their situation worse because on top of dealing with their anxiety they also have to contend with time pressures.
All too often the result is a hurriedly put together set of disjointed slides and a presentation which is an embarrassment for both the presenter and the audience.
It doesn’t have to be like this!
One favour you can do for yourself is this: don’t make your burden greater than it already is, by leaving your presentation to the last minute. Allow yourself plenty to time – as much as you feasibly can – to prepare for your presentation. I am sure you will thank me for this tip later on.
