Tip 93: Lower the pitch of your voice
It is easier for your audience to maintain focus on a moving target rather than trying to concentrate on a fixed spot. So, during your presentation you should move around the podium, if not around the room itself. Even if you are constrained by convention to standing in a fixed spot such as at a lectern, you can achieve a similar effect by periodically changing the direction that your body is facing.
It would be easy to overdo this movement, so be careful that your movements around the room don’t distract people from the content of your presentation. Don’t pace up and down the room! Make sure that you walk around naturally as it suggests you are feeling at ease with both your surroundings and the material.
