Tip 105: Use quotes that support your argument
One of the benefits of using pre-prepared slides in your presentation is the ability to introduce your audience to quotes from experts and display them on a large projector screen. This often has a compelling impact. Using a quote is a potent way of adding credibility to what you are saying.
You can present all the evidence you have to make your case convincing, but sometimes the thing that clinches the deal is a timely quote from an external authority that your audience respects and trusts. You can make a controversial statement more plausible and palatable by supporting it with a quote. That can make a difference between your audience accepting your claim or rejecting it.
