Tip 22: Take the 60-second test
Check the clarity of your message by trying to summarise your presentation into a 60-second sound bite. Imagine that your boss has asked you to tell him the crux of your presentation in 60 seconds. Would you be able to do it?
Alternatively, try to write down the core idea for your talk as a simple sentence on the back of a business card. Try it - can you crystallize the essence of your presentation's content and write it on the back of a business card?
If you struggle with this, then you may want to get your message crystallised further in your own mind before you attempt to tell it to your audience. You should force yourself to have the discipline to get your overall message tighter and clearer.
