Tip 132: Don't go overboard with PowerPoint
Unless your presentation is specifically about demonstrating how to use PowerPoint, it should not be used to showing off your mastery of PowerPoint. There is a time and place for that, and an important presentation is not the time or place for gimmickry.
It is preferable to have simple and elegant slides. It is better to err on the side of simplicity when designing your slides than risking your audience being distracted by the vehicle of your message.
