Tip 47: Give them the facts
If you want to convince your audience of your message, make sure you back up your argument with facts, evidence and proof. Take care to select the data and visual tools that will support the point you are making, whether it is with statistics, graphs or charts.
Be careful however that you do not overwhelm your audience with too much information – there is a subtle line between too much and too little information. There is a skill in being able to select the appropriate information that will support your case, without giving so much information that your audience cannot digest it or make sense of it.
