Tip 101: Express your passion, enthusiasm and energy
If you want to convince your audience of your message, you will have to be convinced about it yourself, and allow your conviction to come across in your presentation. If your message doesn’t matter to you, why should it matter to them? If it matters deeply to you, it will matter to them too. The presentation will not be convincing if the speaker does not exhibit conviction.
You need to demonstrate total commitment to the problem, project, idea or outcome.
Be natural about it, and show your passion for your topic. Take the opportunity to literally tell your audience from the heart why you think this topic is vitally important. Even if you hate the topic, you can talk passionately about why you hate it so much.
State your case clearly, authentically and offer the strongest support for it. Be the strongest advocate for your point of view. Your audience can then choose to agree or disagree based on the merits of your argument.
It's fun to listen to someone who is truly into what they're discussing. Your audience will appreciate your honestly and openness. So don't hold back: be passionate and confident. Let your passion for your topic come out for all to see. Deliver the presentation with feeling, emotion, and energy. Deliver the presentation as if you have spent your entire life waiting for that moment.
Your enthusiasm will make you memorable. The twinkle in your eye, the tone of your voice, and your body movements should suggest excitement and interest. It will rub off on your audience. You'll see them sit up in their chairs and start really paying attention.
